On Nikki Haley, President Trump and Impeachment

The New Yorker magazine’s John Cassidy doesn’t like Nikki Haley’s assertion that President Trump shouldn’t get the “death penalty” for what many conclude to be his transcript transgressions. His recent article like many in the media quickly convicts Trump on the basis that his actions were for personal benefit. They assume the truth of that. This position, “Trump got something illegally” is actually false until proven otherwise. For it to be true, we must eliminate any plausible reason to investigate Biden’s son, and also show that the alleged desired outcome, damage to the Senior Biden campaign occurred. At worst, President Trump attempted to get something through negotiation. For whose benefit, America’s or Donald Trump’s advantage is arguable. I think it’s fair of Haley to disagree with the media’s (and the Democratic Party’s) conclusion of grave guilt on behalf of the President. We should expect Trump to counter that it was unavoidable that Biden is part of his White House investigation of Ukrainian corruption. He will argue that his actions were his Presidential duty.

Now there is another matter on which I would expect former Republican Governor and Ambassador Haley to have reconsidered by now, especially as a 2024 prospect. Warning of Trump’s boisterous demeanor during the Republican Primaries of 2016, she, like many others were wrong about the positive impact of a loud, disruptive voice on American policy making. As I and others have condemned some of the President’s post election divisive rhetoric, with me recently saying his rhetoric as such “should be voted out,” we do not reject his bull in a china shop methods carte blance. If American conservatives are going to support Haley as a Presidential candidate someday, she needs to also walk with a big stick, albeit with a bit more refinement than Donald Trump. The Republican party and “the swamp” still needs a kick into the 21st century. Verve and bold America first swagger without the insulting divisiveness is the juice we seek.

Americans see President Trump as the chemo, not the cancer. — Leo Smith, efgstrategies.com

Don’t Expect the Left to Agree

We shouldn’t expect the liberal progressive left, and the writers of that idiom to understand why Trump’s behavior is tolerated by conservative voters. After-all, in supporting Hilary Clinton for President they saw nothing wrong with Washington to warrant such disruption in 2016. Republicans and many AMERICANS see Trump not as the cancer but the chemo. Those who tolerate Trump are motivated to get the American body politic back in shape with a “no pain no gain” edict.
